In her presentation, Mrs. Trépanier will give an overview of the Translation Bureau from Public Services and Procurement Canada and provide information on its priorities and the way forward.

Shirley Coady has over 20 years of experience in language technology. Starting her career as a software developer, she moved to a start-up company, where she took on additional roles including technical support and professional services.

In 2022, she took over the leadership of the Language Technology Product Management team at RWS, where alongside a very talented team, she’s responsible for the portfolio of traditional as well as cutting-edge technologies for the largest technology company in the industry.

She is also a board member of two NGOs sponsored by the language services industry: Clear Tech, the technology hub of Clear Global in Dublin, formerly Translators without Borders, and Women in Localization.

Marielle Godbout, formerly Vice-President of CTTIC, is currently Vice President of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario. A Certified Translator (FR-EN) with experience working with public, private and not-for-profit sector clients, she is also the English-language editor of two books published in Greece. A fervent advocate of continuing professional development, Marielle recently completed McGill’s Graduate Diploma in Legal Translation. An elected school trustee on the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario from 1998 to 2022, Marielle served on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association for ten years and on the executive of a union local for three years. She has extensive experience in public administration, especially in financial authorities.

Fervente défenseuse du perfectionnement professionnel continu, Marielle a récemment terminé un diplôme d’études supérieures en traduction juridique à l’Université McGill. Conseillère scolaire élue au Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario de 1998 à 2022, Marielle a été membre du conseil d’administration de l’Ontario Public School Boards’ Association pendant dix ans et du conseil de direction d’une section locale d’un syndicat pendant trois ans. Lola has been involved in the translation field for over 30 years; since 1997, she has been the Director of Multi-Languages Corporation. Presently, she is a member of the Board of Directors and past president of the Canadian Language Industry Association.
